Is this compatible with Windows 11 ?

Post by jumbosalata » Thu Jul 27, 2023 5:02 pm

I just tried your trial version however i'm having a blue screen whenever i try to enable Aster. I have created a workplace and then pressed enable and reboot the pc. After a couple seconds, i get a blue screen with a QR code on it. I didn't install any side products of Nvidia such as any Nvidia Experience or etc.

You probably have an incompatible "Memory integrity" feature enabled in Windows.
1. Disable option the "Turn on Virtualization-Based Security (VBS)" from the Group Policy (gpedit.msc).
Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Device Guard > Double-click "Turn on Virtualization Based Security" > Click Disabled > Apply.
2. Next disable "Memory integrity" option from Windows Security.

To quickly disable, you can use this script (requires admin rights).
You can also disable Virtualization Technology in the BIOS, then the specified settings will be disabled automatically.

Use the registry patch below to support Windows 11 build 22631.

This will add support for windows 11 build 22631 to ASTER v2.31.1

Experiencing a blue screen (BSOD) when enabling Aster can be due to various issues, such as driver conflicts or software incompatibilities. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot:
  • Update Drivers: Ensure all your hardware drivers, especially graphics and chipset drivers, are up to date.
Disable Non-Essential Software: Temporarily disable any non-essential background software that might conflict.
Check for Software Conflicts: Verify that other installed software isn't causing conflicts.
    Contact Su
pport: Reach out to Aster's support for specific troubleshooting steps.

This happens due to Windows Security > Device Security > CoreIsolation > Memory Integrity being turned on by default in Windows 11.
You have to turn it off for ASTER to work normally.

Disabling "Memory integrity" and "Virtualization-Based Security" can resolve compatibility issues in Windows.
