Different ip for each workstation
Different ip for each workstation
Hello,
I'm new here and I have got a few questions regarding network activities for the workstations;
- Is it possible to set a different ip for each workstation ? (Whether virtually or with additional hardware)
- Can a computer on the same network send a message for only one of the workstations ?
- Is it possible to communicate with Workstation B, from Workstation A through ip ?
Thank you.

Re: Different ip for each workstation
It is possible to assign only local static IPs.- Is it possible to set a different ip for each workstation ?
I think this is possible, provided that the program for sending messages can be run on each of the workplacesCan a computer on the same network send a message for only one of the workstations ?

Re: Different ip for each workstation
I ran with different IPs on different workstations for a few months but I did find it caused problems with third party services that used the loopback address (Plex and Emby specifically). There may have been a solution that I didn't know about though.
Re: Different ip for each workstation
A loopback adapter is rarely required.
Try just adding a few static IPs to your network card.

I was just looking though all the good info here and noticed all the mounts for ford 302s and 351s are different then what I have. Is mine a custom 1 off or is it from an old design? any and all help would be appreciated.

Different IPs for Each Workstation: Yes, you can assign different IP addresses to each workstation, either through DHCP settings or by manually configuring them. Virtual networks can also be set up for this purpose.Shieldfam wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 12:24 pmHello,

Sending a Message to One Workstation: Yes, a computer on the same network can send a message to a specific workstation using its IP address.
Communication Between Workstations: Yes, Workstation A can communicate with Workstation B through its IP address, provided they are on the same network and properly configured.
