Mandatory profiles for kiosk state

Post by denywinarto » Sun Jun 11, 2017 7:22 am

Posting this here cause the support can't seem to help..
If aster wants to be a truly ideal solution for business,
there has to be some kinda way to make a 'kiosk' or locked state between user sessions.
Otherwise, there will be leftovers, misconfigurations, and other problems faced in public usage PCs

Since we all know shutdown is not possible in multiseat,
deepfreeze, shadow defenders and alike are out of question

so i was looking for a way to lock state between login and logoff..
and i found mandatory profile https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... er-profile
Which is basically a read only user profile...

so in other words we need mandatory profile to "deepfreeze" between logoff session,
Problem is, i can't get it to save aster settings..
I'm following this guide :
https://4sysops.com/archives/create-and ... y-profile/
And this is how it went "

1.Install Windows 10 1511
2.Go to audit mode
3.Install all drivers
4.Make 3 administrators account for multiseat, Multi1, Multi2, Multi3 (all on administrators level)
5.Install Aster multi seat and assign 3 workstations to each accounts in step 4 respectively, so at this point we have 3 accounts running on 3 monitors, 3 mice and 3 keyboards
6.Ran C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\Sysprep.exe /oobe /generalize /reboot /Unattend:C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\CopyProfile.x ml frm Multi2..
7.about 20 mins later "your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart"
8. After waiting a while,>> region keyboard language settings.
enter new account
9. Aster gets scrambled again (settings not saved) have to re-assign all of them

So i'd assume the deepfreeze didn't work, probably because bluescreen problem earlier
I suspect this has something to do with me creating multiple accounts for multiseat

Any idea how to do this properly?
hopefully aster developers can tackle this issue :)
since they're the ones who know in details how aster works (and why it's conflicting with mandatory profile)
I'm hesitant to use aster because of lack of kiosk state possibility
