Wacom tablet

Post by ctan5418 » Fri Apr 21, 2017 11:28 pm

If this has not happened yet, will there be a consideration with implementing an update where more than one workstation can recognize the drivers for Wacom tablets?

I remember a thread awhile back saying that this was not possible, as the stylus is merely recognized as a mouse on the 2nd workstation, so I was wondering if there is a consideration with this for us digital artists?

I want to invest in another Wacom Cintiq (I have one already), and this would definitely save us a lot of money with not having to build another computer just to finally have both my fiancee and I draw at the same time.

Thank you for the fast reply on your end.

My Aster version is v2.15(1.2.10.25.20.5.1.3.7)

Try installing version 2.18 and testing work. At 2.15 there is still no support for touch monitors

Thank you.

Moving forward, I'm considering in getting another tablet other than Wacom.

Will there be driver conflictions if I decide to use a different tablet brand (e.g. Yiynova or Ugee on Workstation 1 + Wacom Cintiq on Workstation 2).

I haven't purchased said products yet. I'd like to get confirmation on this before I fully set on purchasing a different brand, otherwise I'll stick with aiming to buy a second Cintiq.

Thats a good solution :) no really ? no aster team member answer ?

We need support for it.

Not work with 2.18 with an Acer Toucscreen at Workstation 2.

It's been a long time since I've visited this post, but I just want to give an update that Wacom Cintiqs definitely work on both workstations.

In addition, I have moved forward from Wacom (used Cintiq 13HD and 13HDT) and have upgraded to two Huion Kamvas 20 (2019) tablets, and work with some effort.

One thing to watch out when using Huion tablets is that ASTER recognizes the pen as game controllers instead of a mouse, and takes trial-and-error to get it to work. (I used the "HuionTablet_WinDriver_v14.8.33.632_beta" driver at the time of posting. Earlier drivers do not work well.)

Wacom tablet pens will be recognized as a mouse (easier to configure).

I hope this helps anyone planning to use ASTER and have two artists in the household. :)
